About the event

The Herbarium Project is a six-month in-depth study for the budding herbalist spanning over 40 hours of in-person instruction and self-study. This is a hybrid course - with classes that meet in person and online via zoom. 

Students will be led through the creation of their own Herbarium (a collection of preserved plant specimens, and associated data, used for scientific studies.) Each month we will choose two plants from our local environment and study them extensively, including preserving botanical specimens and experiencing the therapeutic properties of each plant in various forms. Each student will complete the course with their own Materia Medica, Certificate of Completion, and plentiful class notes. 

Class meets once a month in person, with an interim mid-month check in via zoom (time and dates to be determined). The first class meeting on July 29, 2023 at 5pm is a Welcome & Orientation, Presentation of Purpose and Policies, and Discussion of Terms. Also expect surprise guest instructors and field trips for gathering plant specimens throughout the course! 

In-person Class dates are as follows: 

July 29, 2023 from 5pm-7:30pm

August 25, 2023 from 6pm-8:30pm

September 22 from 6pm-8:30pm

October 20 from 6pm-8:30pm

November 17 from 6pm-8:30pm

December 15 from 6pm-8:30pm

January 19 from 6pm-8:30pm

$600 paid in full at registration

$100 deposit to save your seat, with 3 subsequent payments of $185
